MSE 204 Thermodynamics and Phase Equilibria

This course is a four credit course emphasizing fundamentals of solution thermodynamics and thermodynamic applications in materials science and metallurgical problems by explaining partial and integral solution properties such as, molar, relative molar and excess quantities, chemical reaction equilibria, Ellingham diagrams and thermodynamics of surfaces and interfaces. This course also aimed to provide calculation of solution properties and equilibrium conditions when chemical reactions take place.
